PURPOSE:To enable high-speed printing with simple and inexpensive low-speed printers, by outputting manuscript information to one of a plurality of a printers according to an output from a means for detecting page-turning information transmitted together with the manuscript information to be printed. CONSTITUTION:Input data a received from a host computer 1 are given to a first printer 31 and a page-turning code detecting part 22 through signal lines L1, L2, L4. On detecting a page-turning code, the detecting part 22 sends a switching signal to an output destination switching part 21 through a signal line L3. On receiving the switching signal, the part 21 outputs the input data in a switching manner to the side of an output signal line L5 by an electronic switch. The next one page is printed by a second printer 32. These operations are repeated, and printers are sequentially switched in the order of 31 32 33 31 32... for each page as a unit. Resultantly, each of the printers is required only to print 1/3 of the amount of data received from the host computer 1, and the system as a whole can perform high-speed printing.
