PURPOSE:To enable micro ink mist to be discharged to the outside of the subject device with a recording medium by shutting off a recording surface-formed part by means of an air curtain using a member which the recording medium contacts and also a fan. CONSTITUTION:Micro ink mist originating from discharged ink droplets moves along an air flow in the neighborhood of the mist, adhering to a wall surface against which the air flow runs. After this, the air flow generated by a fan 390F for paper suction is deflected by means of a duct member, and thereby is allowed to spew out of a gap between a platen 392 and a mounting base 302. This causes the air flow to collide with the printing surface of a recording paper P to form an air curtain. Consequently micro ink mist originating from the ink discharge of an ink head 110 is caused to stick to the recording paper P uniformly. Further the ink mist thus adhering to the recording paper does not affect an image adversely because of its uniform distribution and micro size. |
