PURPOSE:To provide the titled sealing material having excellent rigidity, strength and resistance to thermal cracking, by blending a vinyl chloride resin with CaCO3, a high-boiling solvent, an acrylic resin, a low-boiling resin, glass fiber and asbestos and molding the mixture. CONSTITUTION:20-30% (by weight; the same applies hereinbelow) vinyl chloride resin (A) is blended with 10-30% CaCO3 (B) as a filler, 10-30% high-boiling solvent (C) having a b.p. of 200-300 deg.C, 2-10% acrylic resin (D), 1-3% low- boiling solvent (E) having a b.p. of 80-130 deg.C, 10-30% glass fiber (F) having a diameter of 1-100mu and a length of 0.05-5mm and 1-5% asbestos (G) having a length of 0.05-0.1mm. The mixture is molded to obtain the titled sealing material. The sealing material is applied to the joints of metallic sheets which form an automobile body.
