Device for formulating a digital position datum in an incremental form simulating the logic outputs V1, V2, VZ of an incremental optical position coder from analogue inputs, namely the modulated signals P1, P2 and the reference signal Po, of an inductive position sensor, characterised in that it comprises: an arrangement rC, T1, T2 making it possible to provide a main digital signal S and a reference digital signal R; two frequency multipliers MF1, MF2 multiplying their frequency by the same integer N without phase shift, a phase delayer RP providing a multiple reference signal NR + T delayed by a quarter period; two phase comparators CP1, CP2 formulating square-wave width modulation signals N theta 1, N theta 2; two periodicity detectors DP1, DP2 respectively processing these signals to formulate the signals of the main output paths V1, V2 for the simulated incremental signal; and a phase comparator CP3, a coincidence detector DC and a recentring device RN providing the zero pulse signal VZ of the simulated incremental signal. <IMAGE>
