PURPOSE:To reduce a direct current component impressed to a liquid crystal and to prevent the control of gradation from being damaged at such a time by inverting a frame inversion signal inverting every field again even within the most significant bit. CONSTITUTION:Not only the frame inversion signal FR is inverted every field but also only half the width of the data of the most significant bit D5 is inverted again on the way of the display of the data. Accordingly, a liquid crystal impressed voltage is divided into a positive and a negative in the most significant bit part and impressed to the liquid crystal. Thereby, the direct current component of an A part and a B part indicated by applying slashes to the liquid crystal impressed voltage is offset and the impression of the direct current component is prevented. In this case, since the inversion is performed in a low part in frequency of the most significant bit, like the inversion in a low- order bit side, the liquid crystal impressed voltage does not go to a pulse voltage of narrow width but a complete voltage is impressed and the gradation is controlled as desired.
