PURPOSE:To reduce a restricted feeling of the person whose body is fastened by a seat belt in the initial period of its wear, by loosening the seat belt to a predetermined amount by a loosening/temporarily fixing mechanism, if tension lasts for a predetermined time or more, thereafter driving an automatic winding mechanism to be temporarily fixed. CONSTITUTION:Tension of a seat belt 1, when it is worn, is detected by a tension detecting mechanism 4, and a detection signal TS is input to a control means 5. And when said detection signal TS lasts for a predetermined time or more, a driving signal DS is output to a loosening/temporarily fixing mechanism 6. As a result, the loosening/temporarily fixing mechanism 6 temporarily fixes an automatic winding mechanism 2 after it is driven in a predetermined amount to the loosening side. This temporary fixing restricts the automatic winding mechanism 2, which is once driven to the loosening side, from being actuated again to the tightening side, and a loosened condition of predetermined amount is maintained. In this way, a restricted feeling, given to the body of a passenger by the seat belt 1 in the initial time of its wear, can be relaxed. |
