<p>A thermal transfer recording ribbon to be used in thermal transfer recording such as a thermal printer, which comprises a polyester base film having on the surface thereof a heat-meltable ink layer. The ribbon is characterized in that the polyester base film has, on the other side, a heat-resistant protective layer containing a modified 4-methyl-1-pentene polymer. This thermal transfer ribbon having the heat-resistant protective layer has such an excellent heat resistance that it possesses good high-speed transfer properties and prevents sticking. In addition, the protective layer enables reduction of the thickness of the base film to thereby expedite heat transfer, thus giving a clear image at a high speed.</p> |
