PURPOSE:To eliminate errors due to acceleration and angular acceleration by driving respective oscillation arms so that their vector directions are mutually opposite between two oscillation arms which are connected in the lengthwise- axis direction and also mutually opposite between even adjacent oscillation arms. CONSTITUTION:This gyro device consists of an oscillation body 12 made of a piezoelectric body, electrodes 13a-13d, and 14a-14d which are provided to the oscillation arms to drive the oscillation arms, electrodes 15a-15d for angular velocity detection which are arranged almost at the center parts of the oscillation surfaces of the respective oscillation arms 12a-12d, a driving circuit which drives the oscillation body 12, and a detecting circuit 17 which converts an angular velocity into a corresponding direct current. Then, the directions of oscillation vectors of the respective oscillation arms 12a-12d are made mutually opposite between the oscillation arms 12a and 12b, and 12c and 12d which are connected in the lengthwise-axis direction and also mutually opposite between even adjacent oscillation arms 12a and 12c, and 12b and 12d. Consequently, only an input angular velocity OMEGA is detected. |
