ADSORBENT FOR PURIFYING ENVIRONMENT

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled adsorbent which withstands use underwater and is excellent in adsorption performance by depositing polyethylene imine having >=5,000mol.wt. on porous resin. CONSTITUTION:Polyethylene imine is deposited on porous resin by immersing porous resin (i.e. polymer contg. acrylic alkyl ester as an essential monomer component) having >=50m<2>/g specific surface area into a soln. wherein polyethylene imine having >=5,000mol.wt. is dissolved in a solvent (i.e. methanol or the like). An adsorbent which withstands use underwater and is excellent in adsorption performance of environmental pollution substance is obtained by preferably extracting and removing free polyethylene imine which remains without being deposited by hot water. Still further the amount of polyethylene imine to be deposited is <=100pts.wt. for 100pts.wt. porous resin, and preferably a range of <=50pts.wt. is favorable.
