PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body highly sensitive from the visible light to near IR rays and suitable for a laser printer using a semiconductor laser by providing a specified electrostatic charge generating layer and a charge transfer layer having an optical work function smaller than or equal to this layer. CONSTITUTION:A charge generating layer 2 made of a compd. represented by formula 1 in which 0<=x<=1, and 0<=y<=0.1, and a charge transfer layer 3 are formed on a conductive substrate 1. The layer 3 uses a substance, such as a compd. of formula II, having an optical work function equal to or smaller than the layer 2. As a result, the obtained photosensitive body is raised in long wavelength sensitivity as compard with CdSe by using the compd. of formula I as the layer 2, and lowered in residual potential by using a material small in the optical work function as the layer 3, and especially suitable for a laser printer using a semiconductor laser. |
