In an arrangement for adjusting the spring constants of a helical spring, in particular of the restoring spring of an electromagnetic actuating member, an adjusting member, which is mounted such that it can rotate with respect to the helical spring, is provided with a thread which is suitable for at least partially receiving the helical spring. The adjusting member is further provided, equiaxially, with a further thread which serves for mounting the adjusting member. In dependence on rotation of the adjusting member, more or less turns of the helical spring remain free with the result that the spring constant changes correspondingly. <IMAGE>
