PURPOSE:To improve test efficiency by totalizing flaw information read out of tracks in the same cylinder of a disk and confirming flaw positions of the respective tracks. CONSTITUTION:A control part 6 connects a switch 7 to a data head 1-0, which reads test signals of tracks in the same cylinder of a medium 2-0 by a head 1-0 and sends them to a detection part 3. The detection part 3 detects flaws of tracks in the same cylinder of the medium 2-0 and detects the flaw positions of the tracks from position information from a servo head 11-s. The flaws of the tracks and positions are counted by a counter 8 and stored in a memory 9. Thus, heads 1-0-1-n are switched in order to store all pieces of flaw information in the memory 9, and then they are read out to confirm the flaw positions of the respective tracks by a totalization part 4.
