PURPOSE:To improve the environmental stability and to obtain a highly accurate image by employing such transfer recording medium wherein the properties dominating the transfer characteristic varies abruptly when a plurality of types of energy are applied simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:IDF 1 fed out from a feed roll 2 is subjected to thermal pulses based on a image signal from a thermal head 4. Simultaneously with application of thermal pulses from the thermal head 4 onto IDF 1, lights of different wavelengths based on an image (color) signal are irradiated sequentially and synchronously with the heat pulses from a lamp 3 during multi-color recording. During multi-color recording, lights of different wavelengths are irradiated from a plurality of lamps. In case of monochromatic recording, only one lamp is required. A transfer image is formed on a transfer recording layer 1a by means of the thermal head 4 and the lamp 3, and transferred onto a medium 10 to be transferred by means of a heat roll 8 and a pinch roller 9. Then said medium 10 is heated, and pressurized by means of a heat roll 12 and a pinch roller 14 so as to fix the transferred image forming element onto said medium 10. |
