PURPOSE:To improve maneuverability at the setting of a recording condition by initializing the recording condition when the time required from the ON of a power supply up to the time the temperature of a fixing device reaches a fixing-enabling temperature exceeds a prescribed time. CONSTITUTION:A check timer built in a control circuit 11 is reset and started and a recording condition stored in a non-volatile memory 1 is read out, reset and displayed on an operation panel 10 by a display circuit 9. Then a heater driving circuit 3 is turned on, the surface temperature of a heater lamp 2 is detected by a temperature sensor 4 and a temperature signal is inputted to the control circuit 11. The control circuit 11 decides whether the temperature of the fixing device reaches the fixing-enabling temperature of not based on the temperature signal. When the time exceeds the prescribed time, a previously programmed initializing recording condition is set up. |
