The invention relates to a metal covering for protecting structure surfaces against chemically aggressive media, e.g. acids, alkalis, waste gases, which is characterised in that there are arranged in the form of a grid, on that surface or those surfaces of a structure to be protected, stainless-steel profiles which are arranged, with one leg, parallel to the structure surface, in that stainless-steel sheets or stainless-steel plates, the surface dimensions of which correspond to the grid of the stainless-steel profiles, are welded on said stainless-steel profiles in a continuous manner, and in that the stainless-steel sheets or stainless-steel plates are adhesively bonded, over the entire surface area, on the structure surfaces by means of a fluid-tight adhesive. According to a preferred embodiment, the stainless-steel profile comprises a downwardly open U-profile with foot zones or comprises an obtuse angle. According to a further preferred embodiment, the stainless-steel sheet is a stainless-steel studded sheet. <IMAGE>
