The air conditioner comprises an interior unit conditioner having an intake port and an exhaust port for drawing intake air from the intake port and exhausting conditioned air from the exhaust port. A detector outputs a detecting signal representative of the temperature in the vicinity of the apparatus. A device determines whether the temperature in the vicinity of the apparatus is inside of a prescribed range from a desired temperature on the basis of the detecting signal from the sensor. A guide channels the conditioned air from the exhaust port into the defined space in a first predetermined direction for conditioning the defined space. The guide includes a vane responsive to the determinator for redirecting only a portion of the conditioned air in a second direction when the temperature in the vicinity of the apparatus is inside of the prescribed range. |
