In order to provide a satisfactory seal in a joint area of a machine, for example, between the cylinder head (2) and the cylinder block (4) of an internal combustion engine, a bead (18) is formed on a base plate which comprises a single metallic plate (12) having elasticity, and a microseal layer (24-26) is formed on the base plate surface, whereby a good sealing performance is attainable and a uniform distribution of heat and a good heat dissipation can be attained, in addition to the attainment of a simple construction. |
