PURPOSE:To prevent an uneven wear which is generated by the change in the lapse of time, by constituting a magnetic head so that a ferromagnetic material thin film having a high saturation magnetic flux density is surrounded by a pair of high wear resistance magnetic materials. CONSTITUTION:A high melting point glass is formed by polishing specularly a side face 20b of a core block 20 consisting of Mn-Zn ferrite, etc., and subsequently, a composite block 22 is formed by bringing a high wear resistance non-magnetic material 21 consisting of crystallized glass, etc., to heat pressure welding. In the direction orthogonal to the joint surface of this magnetic material 21, plural U-shaped grooves 23 are formed, and on the upper face 20a and the groove 23, a ferromagnetic thin film 24 of 'sendust(R)', etc., is formed by sputtering, etc. Subsequently, the film 24 of the upper face 20a is eliminated, low softening property glass is placed in the groove 23, and a block material 26 having the same quality as the non-magnetic material 21 is placed and heated, by which the block material 26 is fixed. By cutting this block 22 an alternate long and short dash line in the center part of each block material 26, core half bodies 27a, 27b are obtained, a winding groove 28 is formed in the half body 27a, and the half body 27a and 27b are joined through a gap film by making the thin film 24 oppose exactly, and heated and stuck by putting low softening point glass 29 into the winding groove 28.
