The complex multiplier-accumulator is designed for multiplication of two complex numbers @1 = a1x1 + ia2y1 and @2 = a3x2 + ia4y 2, and: - the weightings a1 to a4 can take the values -1, 0 or +1; - the input variables x1, x2, y1, y2 are fed in parallel to four multipliers (11), in which the products x1x2, x1y2, y1y2 and y1 x2 are formed quantitatively; - the output variables of the multipliers (11) are fed to the inputs of two arithmetic-logic units (12), in which they are combined and weighted with weightings aij, i = 1, 2 and j = 2, 3, according to the following rule: x3 = a13x1x2 - a24y1y2 and y3 = a14x1y2 + a23y1x2, where a13 = a1a3, a24 = a2a4, a14 = a1a4 and a 23 = a2a3; - accumulators (13) are connected behind the arithmetic-logic units (12), for optional addition of the variables x3 or y3. <IMAGE>
