COPOLYMER CONTAINING METHYLMETHACRYLATE UNITS AND ITS USE IN SHEET MATERIAL

Copolymer is provided comprising methylmethacrylate, maleic anhydride and styrene units. The copolymer is useful in preparing cast sheet which may be optically clear and resistant to thermal relaxation. Such sheet may be prepared to meet the requirements for aircraft glazing applications. The copolymer comprises 93 to 95 weight percent of methylmethacrylate units, and 7 to 5 weight percent of a mixture of maleic anhydride and styrene units wherein the molar ratio of maleic anhydride to styrene units is at least one.
