<p>The invention relates to a process for the manufacture of titanium trichloride-based catalysts intended for the polymerisation of alpha-olefins. This process consists essentially in first reducing into solid particles titanium tetrachloride by means of organoaluminium compounds and in the presence of aliphatic ethers, then maintaining the solid particles between 20 and 115 DEG C for 0.25 to 24 hours, washing the resulting solid particles with a liquid hydrocarbon, and bringing the washed solid particle into contact with one or more alpha-olefins at between 0 and 60 DEG C, in the presence of organoaluminium compounds, so that the catalyst obtained contains from 0.05 to 10g of polyalpha-olefin per milligram-atom of titanium.</p> |
