PURPOSE:To effectively perform a damping function at a middle region where pulsating waves tend to occur due to the drive of a supercharger by setting the volume of an air chamber directly upstream a pressure type carburetor to five times the exhaust air quantity or more per cylinder of an engine. CONSTITUTION:A pressure type carburetor 6 is provided on the intake system of an engine proper 1 via an intake manifold 7, an air chamber 8 with a predetermined volume and communicating to an intake pipe 5 from a supercharger compressor 3b is provided directly upstream the carburetor 6, and pulsations of the supercharged pressure and pulsations from the intake system downstream a throttle valve are damped by this air chamber 8. A pulsating pressure in synchronism with the drive of a supercharger 3 and having somewhat a phase lag is generated in the air chamber 8 and a Venturi 11 during supercharging. When the volume of the air chamber 8 is set to five times of the exhaust air quantity or more per cylinder of the engine, the air chamber 8 exerts a large pulsation damping effect. |
