An artificial hair having at its implanted end a conformation such as to ensure high retention of the implant and comprising a fixed knot (1) formed in the doubled fibre, a loop (2) and a short branch (3) intended for embedding during implantation. Said hair is implanted into the scalp by a device comprising a needle which has a single point and a support saddle which engages the lower end of the hair for the implantation operation.
