A treating process for wood preservation treatment which comprises introducing an aqueous solution containing (a) a quaternary ammonium salt, (b) a water soluble inorganic and/or organic copper salt, (c) ammonia and/or a water soluble amine capable of forming a complex with copper ion and (d) a molybdic acid compound and/or a nitrite, in a specific weight ratio, into a vacuum/pressure treatment system to effect wood preservation treatment while preventing corrosion in the system; and a wood preservative for the process.
