PURPOSE:To inform such a state that at least one of the two earth magnetism sensors detects excessive magnetism to a carrying person, by detecting said state by an error detection means when the carrying person detects a magnetic field other than earth magnetism in the vicinity of a magnet. CONSTITUTION:When the information Kx of a detection circuit 4 is larger than a set value N, a first discrimination circuit 6 emits an 'H' discrimination signal Cx and, when the information Ky of a detection circuit 5 is larger than the set value N, a second discrimination circuit 7 emits an 'H' discrimination signal Cy. An erroneous detection judge circuit OR1 issues output when one of the discrimination signals Cx, Cy is 'H'. That is, when a carrying person is present in the vicinity of a magnet and at least one of earth magnetism sensors 2, 3 detects excessive magnetism to detect magnetism other than earth magnetism, a signal Sg is emitted and the display of erroneous detection is performed on an erroneous detection display part 13 on the basis of the signal Sd of an erroneous detection display driver 12. By this constitution, an azimuth can be displayed with high reliability.
