PURPOSE:To correct the degradation in resolution due to thinning by operating OR between preceding thinned invalid data and invalid data just after this invalid data when picture data is thinned in the main scanning direction. CONSTITUTION:When picture data is thinned to 2/3 and 1/2, 2/3 and 1/2 enable clocks C1 and C2 are outputted from a counter 2. Valid data synchronizing clocks H1 and H2 are generated from these clocks C1 and C2 and a fundamental clock to generate valid picture data. Simultaneously, ineffective data synchronizing clocks E1 and E2 from a gate 5 are used to latch invalid data in picture data by an FF 7. Invalid data G1 and G2 are outputted to a gate 9 synchronously with timing clocks F1 and F2 outputted from a timing switching circuit 6, and OR between these ineffective data and effective data is operated to convert dropped-out picture data. |
