<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a raw material and intermediate raw material for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, etc., in high yield, by reacting an acid halide with a saturated cyclic ether in the presence of a specific reusable catalyst and separating the catalyst with a simple procedure after the completion of the reaction. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound such as 4-chlorobutyl acetate can be produced by reacting an acid halide (e.g. acetyl chloride) with a saturated cyclic ether (e.g. tetrahydrofuran) in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a halide of a lanthanoid element (e.g. La, Tm, Tb, Ho, Lu, etc.) of formula LnX3 (Ln is lanthanoid element atom; X is halogen) such as TmCl3, TbCl3, HoCl3, LuCl3, etc., at 30-200 deg.C under 0-15kg/cm<2>G for 0.5-10hr. EFFECT:The separated and recovered catalyst can be reused by a simple treatment and the reaction yield attained by the regenerated catalyst is nearly equal to the yield attained by the fresh catalyst.</p> |
