PURPOSE:The tilted composition, obtained by blending a base polymer containing straight-chain polyethylene with hydrate of a metal oxide, having improved flame retardance, etc., without smoking, emission of corrosion gases, etc., in combustion because of the halogen-free composition and suitable for insulating covering of electric wires and cables. CONSTITUTION:A composition, obtained by blending 100pts.wt. base polymer which is a mixture of straight-chain polyethylene having 0.91-0.94 density and 0.1-10 melt index with one or more of the group consisting of poly-alpha-olefins and polypropylene, etc., with 50-300pts.wt., preferably 70-200pts.wt. hydrate of a metal oxide, e.g. hydrated alumina, hydrated magnesia, etc., and further, as necessary, flame retardant assistant, antioxidant, processing aid, carbon black and coupling agent. |
