PURPOSE:To protect an integrated circuit against a damage due to a static electricity during handling by connecting diodes connected reversely with each other with portions of a plurality of external ground lines near an electrode pad. CONSTITUTION:Collector-base shortcircuit type diodes 6a, 6b connected reversely with each other are provided between an external ground line 21 connected with an emitter 4 and an external ground line 22 connected with an Si substrate 1. Since the diodes 6a, 6b are provided, even if a high electrostatic voltage is applied externally during handling, it is not applied to an internal transistor to be protected. When an integrated circuit has many external ground lines, in case of n pieces of external ground lines, diodes 6a1, 6b1 are connected reversely with each other between the line 21 and the line 22. Thus, diodes 6an-1, 6bn-1 are inserted between the external ground lines 2n-1 and 2n. Thus, it can prevent an integrated circuit having many external ground lines from damaging. |
