PURPOSE:To stably produce a silver halide photographic material having superior shelf stability and a wide development latitude by incorporating a silver halide spectrally sensitized with at least one kind of specified sensitizing dye and a silver halide which may be sensitized at a wavelength shorter than the maximum wavelength of the silver halide into a photogrpahic emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide A spectrally sensitized with at least one kind of sensitizing dye represented by the formula and a silver halide B which may be spectrally sensitized at a wavelength shorter then the maximum wavelength of the silver halide are incorporated into a silver halide emulsion layer. In the formula, each of R1 and R2 is alkyl, alkenyl or aryl, each of L1 and L2 is CH or CR5 (R5 is lower alkyl or aryl), Z1 is a naphthoxazole ring or a group of atoms required to form a benzoxazole ring having aryl or arlakyl at the 5- and/or 5-position, Z2 is a group of atoms required to form a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring contg. N, X<-> is an anion, l=1 or 2, m=0 or 1 and n=0, 1 or 2. |
