PURPOSE:To prevent a ribbon from twisting round a pinch roller, by providing a ribbon guide roller at the back side of the pinch roller. CONSTITUTION:A ribbon 1 is fed in a direction of an Arrow A from the end portion of a ribbon cartridge 2 to the other end portion thereof through the portion between a head 3 and a platen 10, thus being contained in the other end portion of the ribbon cartridge 2. A ribbon guide roller 6 is spaced from the other end portion of the ribbon cartridge 2 closer than a pinch roller 4 and a drive roller 5. Therefore, the ribbon 1 is applied with an appropriate tension while being led to a fixed path after passing through the pinch roller 4 by the ribbon guide roller 6, thus the ribbon 1 is prevented from twisting round the pinch roller 4.
