In a device for measuring and supervising and possibly also for training of a person's eye (1) movements it is suggested that the shutter (3) can be shut on or off without any clicking sound. This is obtained by using a shutter (3) composed of two polarizing filters (5, 7), a polarizer polarizing the incident light in a distinct direction of polarization and a second polarizing filter, an analyzer, placed close to the eye (1) of the person, whose eye movements are to be determined or supervised. Between these polarizing filters another device (9) able to rotate the plane of polarization is placed. Together with detecting elements (27) for the eye movements said shutter (3) is placed on a common frame, located at some distance from the eye (1). The rotating device (9) is preferably a liquid crystal device. The shutter (3) can be divided into segments to selectively obscure or dim various parts of the vision field. This may be used for training the eye movements of children in reading, where the lower part of the vision field of one eye could be selectively obscured or dimmed to permit the training of one eye at a time without influencing the other eye. |
