PURPOSE:To enable uniform and satisfactory printing quality to be available by employing a thermal element shifted in a printing direction as a printing head of a thermal transfer printer of bothway printing type. CONSTITUTION:A glazed layer (glass material layer) 2 is formed along a printing head array direction on a ceramic substrate 1, and a wiring pattern 4 is connected to a thermal element 3. In a normal printing head 12, the thermal element 3 is formed at a position deviated from the center (top) of the glazed layer 2 to a normal direction side (arrow A direction side), and in a reversed printing head 11, the thermal element 3 is formed shifted from the center (top) of the glazed layer 2 to a reversed direction side (arrow B direction side). The deviated stroke of the thermal element 3 should be about 50mum max. In a thermal transfer printer of bothway printing type, both the normal printing head 12 and the reversed printing head 11 perform printing using the thermal element 3 shifted in the same direction as a printing one, thus improving printing quality. |
