PURPOSE:To obtain a plane antenna with high aperture rate while the antenna gain per unit area is increased remarkably by forming crank type basic elements of both corresponding microstrip conductors interdigitally while they are turned by 180 deg.. CONSTITUTION:The 2nd microstrip conductors 3a', 3b' provided in parallel with microstrip conductors 3a, 3b are turned respectively by 180 deg. to the microstrip conductors 3a, 3b with respect to the crank type basic element 4, and the progressing direction of a travelling wave is selected reversely to the feeding end and the termination of both the microstrip conductors 3a, 3b, and 3a', 3b' corresponding to each other. Thus, the radiation characteristic of both the basic elements 4 is equivalent and the antenna gain is nearly doubled. Since the basic elements 4 are formed interdigitally, the increase in the area by the parallel provision of the microstrip conductors 3a', 3b' is decreased and the plane antenna with high aperture rate is obtained.
