PURPOSE:To secure sealing action by connecting an intermediate chamber provided in between upper and lower rod seals to an operating gas pressure system and an oil separator via check valves and connecting an oil chamber on the lower side of said intermediate chamber to the oil part of said oil separator. CONSTITUTION:A gas seal 21, an oil scraper 23, and an oil seal 25 are provided on a rod 19 which connects an operating piston 16 to a guide piston 18. An intermediate chamber 22 for collecting gas which leaks out of an operating space 15 is provided in between the gas seal 21 and the oil scraper 23, and its lower part is connected to an oil separator 35 via a check valve 34 while its upper part is connected to a passage 36 to an operating gas passage 33. An oil chamber 24 is provided in between the oil scraper 23 and the oil seal 25, and is connected to an oil sump on the lower part of the oil separator 35. Thereby, since the intermediate chamber 22 and the operating space 15 have nearly the equal pressure, sealing property is improved.
