PURPOSE:To enable printing of an image in parallel with characters without generation of density irregularity by controlling a thermal converter through the judgement of whether character data and image data are arranged side by side in a single line. CONSTITUTION:It is judged whether data is image data or character data by a compiler 25a using a command to be sent from a data source 27. If the data is image data, it will be sent to a data conversion part 15 as such, and if character data, it will be input to a character generator 25b by operating a data selection part 26. Then after conversion of the data to image data by means of the character generator 25b in accordance with characters, the image data is transferred to a thermal conversion part 15. At this thermal conversion part 15, an amount of line feed into a printer is changed depending on whether it is parallel image data or individual data, based on the results of compilation by a compiler 25a, and at the same time, selection of the high speed and low speed operation of a thermal control ROM is performed. |
