PURPOSE:To obtain a good quality working surface without dust and with low noise at a high speed by executing the cutting of a work within an optimum cutting speed region where carbide is not formed on the cutting surface. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam 1 is oscillated from a resonator 7 contg. a total reflection mirror 8 and a partial reflection mirror 9 and is bent by a bent mirror 10. The work 5 is fixed to an X-Y table 6 and the speed and position of the table are controlled by NC control. The cutting speed of the work 5 is set within the cutting speed region to provide the good cutting conditions under which the formation of the carbide on the working surface to be cut is obviated according to the output of a CO2 laser and the thickness of a press board. The insulator of electrical apparatus is thus cut to have the good-quality working surface. |
