PURPOSE:To obtain an output signal removed its reset noise by integrating the output of a solid-state image pickup element, sample-holding the earlier half, and the latter half of the integral time, respectively, an subtracting these outputs from the integrated output, then sample-holding once more the resulting output. CONSTITUTION:The output signal from the solid-state image pickup device 7 is inputted to an integration circuit 55 then to sample-holding circuits 56 and 57. The circuits 56 and 57 are the circuits to sample-hold the earlier and the latter haves of the integral time of the circuit 55, hence in a sample-held signal, reset noise proportionate to said time is included. In order to eliminate such reset noise, the output vC of the circuit 57 is gain-controlled by an amplifier 58, then supplied to a subtraction circuit 59 and subtracted from the output vS+C of the circuit 56. The resulting signal is sample-held by a sample and holding circuit 60 at a time where no reset noise is included. Thus, a modulation signal components are taken out.
