PURPOSE:To remove coupling noise that may occur between a vertical signal line and a horizontal signal line corresponding to the former by making a reset signal rise only after a vertical scanning line falls during a horizontal flyback period. CONSTITUTION:During the time when a vertical scanning line V1 is at a high level, the read action of the first line is executed by making the horizontal scanning lines H1 through Hn high level in time-series. And the charges stored in photodiodes Di are taken out to a load resistor as an electric signal, to output it via a sense amplifier SA. When the read of one line is ended, the cycle enters the horizontal flyback period T. during this period, the vertical scanning line is shifted from the high level to a low level to come to a non- selecting state. Then a reset signal RS is made high level in order to turn ON respective MOSFET Q20-Q22 for resetting. And thus the pseudo signal N1 occurring in the horizontal signal line HS2 and others that are in the non- selecting state is eliminated.
