PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of a vibration wave motor by engaging the projection of a movable body fixing unit with a slit formed with a pectinated contact to increase the strength against an impact. CONSTITUTION:A piezoelectric or electrostrictive unit 3 is bonded to the lower portion of an elastic unit 1 as a vibrator. A pectinated contact 1A made of a plurality of rectangular prisms are formed on the top of the unit 1 to improve the efficiency, and a projection 4A corresponding to a fixing unit 4 is engaged with a slit 1AA for forming the contact 1A. A frequency voltage is applied through a printed plate 6A to an electro-mechanical converter 3, a traveling wave vibration is generated at the unit 1, the contact of a rotor body 2A is frictionally contacted with the contact 1A formed on the top of the unit 1, and the rotor 2A is rotated together with a holding plate 5 by the frictional contact. Since the projection 4A of the unit 4 is engaged with the slit 1AA of the unit 1, the unit 1 is stopped to rotate. |
