PURPOSE:To facilitate the fabrication of a heat exchanger and obtain an excellent fabrication accuracy by a method wherein slits are slit at the four corners of a slit plate within a range surrounded by header holes while two pieces of the header holes on an isolating plate are expanded so as to communicate with the slits of the slit plate. CONSTITUTION:Header holes 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d or the inlet ports and the outlet ports of low-temperature fluid are bored at four corners of one of a pair of upper and lower side plates 1. A slit plate 2 is bored with the header holes 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d at the four corners thereof and a plurality of slits 2e are slit within the range surrounded by the header holes in parallel from the header hole 2a to the heater hole 2e while a land between the slits is provided with the role of a fin. An isolating plate 3 is bored with the header holes 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d at the four corners thereof and the header holes 3a, 3b, are expanded so as to communicate with all of the slits 2e under a condition that the slit plate 2 is put on the isolating plate 3. A heat exchanger is completed by laminating the side plate 1, the slit plate 2 and the isolating plate 3 sequentially from the upper side thereof pinching a thin brazing agent between respective plates and placing them into a heating furnace to heat and braze them integrally.
