PURPOSE:To attain miniaturization of head and to simplify the structure thereof, by incorporating an input cell and a beam projector in a case and providing a light receiving element and a light source to the outside of the case. CONSTITUTION:A light receiving lens 2 is provided to one end surface of a case 1 and an input cell 4 consisting of an optical filter 3 and a fiber sheet is provided behind said lens 2 while a beam projector consisting of a mirror 5, a beam emitting lens 8 and a scanner 9 is mounted in a beam emitting side. An external controller 18 is provided to the outside of the case 1, and a light receiving element 19 and a light source 20 are provided to said controller 18. The element 19 is connected to the cell 4 using an optical fiber array 6 and the beam source 20 is connected to the beam projector using an optical fiber 7. When the beam from the light source 20 is sent to the beam emitter, said beam is reflected by the mirror 5 to be projected to a working object 12 and the beam reflected from said object 12 is inputted to the cell 4 through the lens 2 and the filter 3 to be taken out as an optical signal and this signal is sent to the element 19. Purging air is blown out to the outsides of cover glasses 13, 14 from air blow-out holes 15, 16 to prevent dust from adhering to the glasses 13, 14.
