PURPOSE:To prevent causing a ripple and a deviation of a dimensional accuracy of a metal sheet by a residual stress, at the time of bending the metal sheet by rolls, by projecting a laser beam on the bending part. CONSTITUTION:When the laser beam is projected on the intended bending part 2 of the metal sheet, the part 2 is heated to soften and improve a workability. In this state, the metal sheet 1 arrived at a roll forming machine is inserted between the rolls 6, 7 to bend, and the bending part 2 is in the state to have increased its workability by projecting the laser beam, so any residual stress is generated. In this way, the working condition is maintained for a long period and the working accuracy is improved.
