MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To form a magnetic recording medium having an excellent antistatic effect and sensitivity and electromagnetic characteristics such as S/N by dispersing carbon black and ferromagnetic powder of about 5-25% of the carbon black into an intermediate layer. CONSTITUTION:The intermediate layer of the magnetic recording medium provided with the intermediate layer contg. the carbon black and a magnetic layer dispersed with the ferromagnetic powder in a binder on a nonmagnetic substrate contains further the ferromagnetic powder of 5-25% of the carbon black. The average particle size of the carbon black is preferably 20-1,000mmu and the carbon black is used at a ratio of about 50-200wt% of the binder. The dispersibility of the carbon black is poor if the content of the ferromagnetic powder is lower than 5% and the electric resistance of the intermediate layer increases and the antistatic effect is spoiled if the content is higher than 25%.
