<p>PURPOSE:The reaction of a dicarboxylic anhydride with an aromatic or aliphatic primary amine is carried out in the presence of an ion-exchange resin to give a compound which is used as a starting substane of synthetic intermediate of agrochemicals, medicines, dyes and polymers, without formation of by- products, in high yield. CONSTITUTION:A dicarboxylic anhydride of formula I [A is ethylene of formula II and formula III, vinylene of formula IV, tetrahydrophenylene (X1 is H, halogen, 1-4C alkyl; X2 is halogen, 1-4C alkyl, phenyl, chlorophenyl)] is lowed to react with an aromatic primary amine such as aniline or an aliphatic amine such as methylamine in the presence of an ion-exchange resin in a solvent such as benzene at 50-160 deg.C to effect dehydration and cyclization. The ion- exchange resin is a strong acid, weak acid or weak base ion-exchange resin and is used in an amount of 1-40wt% based on the reaction mixture.</p> |
