PURPOSE:To improve the ozonizing efficiency, by absorbing radiant heat generated in a fine gap in an electrode to be cooled in an ozonizer by a silent discharge method, reflecting the radiant heat by a discharge tube to improve the heat dissipation and preventing the temperature rise and increase in the gap. CONSTITUTION:In an ozonizer having a dielectric between metal electrodes and operated by a silent discharge method, an earthing electrode tube 2 is cooled (cooling water inlet 11 and outlet 12) and a film 20 having the surface subjected to heat absorbing treatment is provided on the surface to be in contact with an ozonizing gas of the earthing electrode tube 2 and/or a film 22 having the surface subjected to heat reflecting treatment is provided on the surface to be in contact with an ozonizing gas of a discharge tube 1 (dielectric). According to the above-mentioned construction, the heat energy generated by the silent discharge can be readily removed by a refrigerant of the metal electrodes in either one of heat transfer methods of convection and radiation.
