PURPOSE:To obtain a toner for development having a good powder characteristic and particularly good fluidity by sticking or incorporating porous silica subjected to a hydrophobic treatment to the surface of toner particles. CONSTITUTION:The toner is capsule toner and is formed by sticking or incorporating porous silica subjected to the hydrophobic treatment to the surface of the shell. The porous silica is formed by double decomposition of sodium silicate and the average grain size thereof is adjusted to <=60mmu. The hydrophobic treatment of the porous silica is executed by a silane coupling agent or titanate coupling agent. The silica treated by a dimethyl dichlorosilane and the silica treated by an isopropyl triisostearoyl titanate, isopropyl tris(dioctyl pyrophosphate) titanate or isopropyl tri(N-aminoethyl-aminoethyl) titanate are more preferable. The content of the silica subjected to the hydrophobic treatment is made 0.05-10wt% per the weight of the capsule toner to or in which the silica subjected to the hydrophobic treatment is not stuck or incorporated. |
