NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [Z is tetrafunctional organic group, e.g. formula II, III, etc.; n is 1-6; m is 1-10). USE:A molding material which is an addition reaction crosslinking type polyimide having improved thermal stability, flexibility and solvent solubility, curable and polymerizable to form higher polymers. PREPARATION:For example, (A) an aromatic tetracarboxylic acid anydride expressed by formula IV is reacted with (B) a diamine expressed by formula v in a solvent, e.g. DMF, etc., at room temperature and (C) maleic anhydride is then added to give a maleamic acid, which is refluxed in the presence of a catalyst, e.g. nickel acetate, etc., and a tertiary amine, e.g. triethylamine, etc. Acetic anhydride is added and reacted therewith and the resultant reaction product is then poured into a large amount of water to deposit crystals. |
