PURPOSE:To make a cathode-ray tube thinner as far as the rigidity is permissible, and improve the starting property of the cathode-ray tube, by processing in drawing or with press, and then giving a rolling process. CONSTITUTION:A cathode sleeve 1 is produced normally by a drawing work and a cathode sleeve 5 is produced normally by a press process. The minimum thickness of those cathode sleeves 1 and 5 is limited at 18mum in the extension and 20mum in the press process. Therefore, after processing up to about 20mum by the extension or the press process, then the thickness is finished up to 5 to 15mum by a rolling method. The starting property of the cathode-ray tube is improved in such a way, and moreover, by the process hardening in the rolling process, a high strength (rigidity) of the cathode sleeve 1 or 5 can be realized.
