PURPOSE:To improve both execution efficiency and object efficiency by outputting an intermediate text added with an arithmetic size in the form of an object program which supports the arithmetic size decided by a code generating means. CONSTITUTION:The intermediate text number of an arithmetic formula containing an operand 1 (= an operand 2), an operator and an operand 3 shows the type of a text, e.g., an addition text, a multiplication text, etc. The arithmetic size shows the discrimination between an integer type and a floating decimal point type. Then the attributes of operands 1-3 show the discrimination between the integer and floating point types, the operand size and the presence or absence of a code respectively. Thus an arithmetic size adding means 4 refers to an intermediate text stored in a work file 2. Then the arithmetic size is decided by the text number and the operand attribute and stored in an arithmetic size area of the intermediate text in the file 2. Thus it is possible to increase the executing process of an object program and to attain optimization of an object size.
